Seasonal Equipment Maintenance Checklist

Plate · No. 06Maintenance

Equipment failure during peak season is a farmer's worst nightmare. A simple seasonal maintenance routine prevents 80% of in-season breakdowns. Here's the checklist we give every dealer partner.

Pre-season (before Kharif or Rabi begins) - Drain and clean all tanks and spray lines - Inspect and replace worn seals, O-rings, and gaskets - Test battery capacity — replace if below 70% of rated capacity - Check all fuel lines for cracking or perishing - Lubricate all moving parts: gearcase, lever pivots, wheel bearings

Mid-season (every 100 operating hours) - Clean air filters (replace if damaged) - Check and re-torque all fasteners — vibration loosens bolts progressively - Inspect nozzle wear — replace if spray pattern is uneven - Check engine oil level and colour — change if dark or gritty - Test electrical connections for corrosion

Post-season (before storage) - Full chemical flush of all spray components - Drain fuel tanks completely for petrol/diesel engines - Disconnect and store batteries at 50% charge in a cool, dry place - Coat metal surfaces lightly with oil to prevent rust - Store sprayers upright or hung, not lying on the tank

A well-maintained machine holds its resale value and performs identically in year 3 as it did in year 1.
